Contact Improv Jam at First Street Studio
Join Trainer Ty Graynor for an evening of dance!
The evening will start with with a workshop and guided movement exploration, uncovering principles of solo and contact improvisation.Together we will explore the intuitive stream of consciousness that lives within the body, utilizing dance improvisation to open up new kinetic pathways, investigate texuture, degrees of effort, and our willingness to connect with other bodies in space.
Following the workshop we will open up the space for a traditional improv jam, which will take us forward into the rest of the evening. Contact improvisation is is an opportunity to dive into somatic awareness and surrender. It is a way to communicate deeply, without words.
Humans with all movement experiences welcome. Bring your curiosity and desire to move!
Fire & Ice is back, just in time for the end of the year!
You’re invited to a Neon Tribal Winter Fire and Ice, Saturday Dec. 17th, 7pm at Highbrow Lowbrow.
Fire and Ice is returning to create space for us to challenge ourselves and till our internal garden for the upcoming next season.
Some words from Joe Lucky about Fire & Ice:
This is a ritual that is perfect for anyone who desires to get out of a rut, to move past unwanted energy, who wants clarity, harmony, and peace. Filled with pure Yang energy, we circle around our internal fire and stoke it even hotter. We gently weave Yin energy into our moments of surrender. Creating a space where internal growth can take place. Besides Fire and Ice being a ritual, its individual components are powerful in their own right. If you were to add any of them to your daily routine, you’d easily be able to get in flow much easier.
